What we do
Our services
Four things, done by one contractor: commercial solar PV, battery storage, EV charging with solar car ports — and the trade underneath all three, any electrical work, which we have carried for more than 30 years. This page is the map; each service has its own page with the depth, the numbers and the honest caveats.
NICEIC · RECC · MCS · 30+ years' electrical contracting · Based in County Durham
In one paragraph: we design and install solar PV, battery storage and EV charging for commercial, agricultural and public-sector clients across County Durham and the North East — and we take on the full breadth of electrical contracting work, for businesses and homes alike, as we have for three decades. Solar leads on this site because it is where we save clients the most; the electrical trade is why the solar is engineered rather than merely sold.
For your business — and your home
Four services, one contractor
Most of what follows is commercial — but every service is offered to homeowners across County Durham too. Pick the one you need, or tell us the building and we'll point you.
-
1Commercial & agricultural solar PV
Rooftop solar for farms, warehouses, factories and offices, with sheet-metal and trapezoidal roofs a speciality and public-sector and Grade II listed buildings in scope. We have been installing solar PV for more than 15 years — design, installation, maintenance and system validation, for commercial and domestic properties — and every system starts from your consumption data, not a brochure default. The hub covers yields, roof types, planning, the tax position and what a project actually costs.

2Commercial battery storage
Storage turns daytime generation you cannot use at the moment it is made into evening supply you would otherwise buy — and on half-hourly tariffs it can shave the expensive peaks too. We install Fox ESS battery systems sized from your actual consumption profile, and we will tell you plainly when a battery does not earn its place, because sometimes it does not. The hub covers sizing, lifespan honesty — batteries are 10–12-year equipment, not "lifetime" — and where storage genuinely pays.

3EV charging & solar car ports
Workplace charge points for fleets, staff and visitors, solar car ports that turn parking into generation, and domestic charge points where wanted — all designed around the question charger resellers skip: what your building's supply can take. The hub pins the Workplace Charging Scheme's current terms straight from gov.uk — up to 75% of costs, capped at £500 per socket, until 31 March 2027 — and explains the parking and eligibility tests before you apply.

4Any electrical work
The trade the firm was built on, and still the widest thing we do. We are experts in low voltage electrical distribution — power, lighting, data, fire alarm and security, generators and UPS, building management systems — and we carry the full inspection, testing and certification stack that keeps commercial premises compliant: EICR, PAT, emergency lighting, thermographic scanning and more, for businesses and homes alike. If it carries current, it is on the list — and the list on the hub is long.

One contractor, deliberately
Most projects we quote end up touching more than one of these pages. A solar array wants a battery to catch its surplus; a bank of EV chargers wants the array to feed it and a board with the capacity to carry it; and every one of those systems lands on electrical infrastructure that has to be assessed, upgraded where needed, and certified. Splitting that across a solar company, a charger firm and an electrician means three surveys, three quotes and three versions of the truth. We priced our way out of that argument by being all three.
If you want the products behind the systems — Fox ESS batteries, Sigenergy and SMA inverters — they have their own pages under Products. If you want the local picture first, start with where we work, or put your own building through the savings calculator.

Not sure which service to start with?
Most projects touch more than one of these pages, so skip the guesswork. Send us the building and the bill and you will get a straight answer on what we would do first, in what order, and what each step costs.
Do you only work for businesses?
No. The commercial and agricultural work leads because that is where the biggest savings live, but the firm has served both residential and commercial clients for its whole 30-year run and still does — domestic electrical work, home EV charge points and residential solar included. Same survey-first habit, same certificates, smaller roofs.
Which service should we start with?
Start with the building, not the shopping list. Tell us what the site is and what it spends, and the survey will put the options in order — sometimes the answer is solar first, sometimes it is a board upgrade or an overdue EICR before anything generation-shaped makes sense. We would rather sequence the work correctly than sell you the shiniest item on the menu first.
Not sure which page you need?
Skip the navigation and just tell us about the building. You will get a straight answer on what we would do in your position, in what order, and what each step costs — solar, storage, charging, or the electrical work that has to come first. Call 07720 802405 or use the form.
