Most commercial storage is assembled from separate boxes: an inverter from one company, batteries from another, an EV charger from a third, and a site-specific control layer to make them talk. SigenStor collapses that into one engineered stack. The Sigen Energy Controller — the three-phase hybrid inverter — sits on top; up to six battery modules stack beneath it; the tower stands on the floor (or wall-mounts in smaller configurations) and presents one clean face to the plant room.
The energy management system is inside the controller rather than bolted on afterwards, and the mySigen app shows live generation, storage and usage without a separate metering project. For a business, the practical benefit is fewer failure boundaries: one manufacturer answers for the inverter, the batteries and the controls under one warranty framework — the main reason we offer it alongside our Fox ESS systems rather than instead of them.

Sigenergy's published Factory Limited Warranty gives 10 years on the battery modules and 10 years on the Energy Controller, with 5 years on the Energy Gateway. On capacity, the battery is warranted to retain 70% of usable capacity at year ten, or to a minimum energy throughput of 23.77 MWh per 8 kWh module (15.85 MWh per 5 kWh module) — whichever comes first. Do the honest arithmetic on that cap: 23.77 MWh across 7.8 usable kilowatt-hours is roughly 3,000 full-cycle equivalents, so a battery cycled fully once a day reaches the throughput limit around year eight. That is a perfectly normal shape for the industry — Fox's equivalent cap works the same way — but it is the number that should size the system, and we will show you the same sum for your own usage profile. One procedural note: the warranty document is issued per region, so we confirm the current UK-issue terms as part of every quote.
Same rule we apply to every brand on this site: an inverter or battery is a 10-to-12-year component inside a 25-to-30-year solar asset. Sigenergy's 10,000-cycle rating is impressive on paper, but the warranty's throughput cap is the bankable number, and it lands in the same decade as everyone else's. Plan the capital cycle on that basis and the system will only ever surprise you pleasantly. And if your load profile does not justify storage at all — plenty of nine-to-five businesses use their solar directly and need very little battery — we will tell you that before you spend anything.
Sigenergy was founded in 2022 by a senior team from the big power-electronics names, and it has moved from launch to serious UK distribution unusually fast. We are not going to pretend three years is thirty: it is a young company, and buying it is a bet that excellent engineering plus rapid growth beats a longer badge history. Three things make that bet reasonable. The hardware certifies to the same IEC standards as the established brands. The warranty is published, specific, and runs with the product. And because we are the contractor — not a pop-up solar brand — you will still have someone to call about the installation for decades either way. Sometimes, honestly, yes — and then the maths usually favours our Fox ESS pairing on capacity per pound. SigenStor earns its place when integration matters: tight plant rooms (one IP66 tower instead of three boxes), a requirement for seamless backup, or a fleet-electrification plan where the DC module changes what your grid connection can deliver. We model both options against your half-hourly data and show you the working.
The module-level DC optimisers are the quiet star here: because each battery module manages its own state of health, newer modules can join a stack without dragging themselves down to the oldest module’s condition. Up to six modules fit one controller; beyond that the design conversation moves to additional towers, which we size for at the first survey so the cable routes and floor loadings are already in place. A full 48.3 kWh tower weighs 467 kg — your floor slab cares, even if the brochure does not mention it.
